Idaho White Pine also known as Western White Pine (Pinus monticola), is one of five western species of pine widely distributed throughout the Kootenay Interior wet belt region. The wood is light in color, ranging from cream to pale light-brown with cherry red knots. It is straight grained, with a fine and uniform consistency.
Idaho White Pine is light in weight and retains reasonable strength and hardness. It is reasonably easy to work with which makes it a desirable choice in the craftsmanship of fine wood furniture and construction of wood products like cabinetry, staircases, tables, chairs and any other wood furniture one would have in their home.
